Description

Reznor UDX 100,000 BTU Propane Unit  - NUDX100,N1036538R

Reznor model UDX gas-fired unit heaters are great for space heating applications. These units are power vented to eliminate heat losses up the flue pipe. Each heater features a two-tone black and white powder coated, scratch-resistant paint scheme and has clean rounded corners and edges with no visible screws or fasteners. For air circulation, the UDX series utilize an axial propellor fan.

Q&A

Q: What is the heating capacity of this unit?
A: The UDX100 delivers ~105,000 BTU input (~87,000 BTU output), ideal for medium garages, workshops, and commercial spaces requiring reliable heat.

Q: What fuel type does the NUDX100 use?
A: Factory‑configured for propane (LP) operation with ETL approval for indoor commercial/industrial installations.

Q: How efficient is this propane unit heater?
A: It achieves ~83 % AFUE thermal efficiency, maximizing heat output while minimizing fuel usage.

Q: What heat exchanger technology does it include?
A: Features a TCORE2® titanium‑stabilized aluminized steel heat exchanger for durability and corrosion resistance.

Q: How does it handle ventilation and airflow?
A: Power‑vented design reduces heat losses up the flue, and an axial propeller fan circulates warm air evenly.

Q: Is the operation quiet?
A: Yes — built with vibration‑isolated fan and venter motors for reduced noise during heating cycles.

Q: Is installation and service easy?
A: Includes external gas connection and is designed for 2‑ or 4‑point suspension mounting, simplifying installation and maintenance.

Maintenance Tips
  • Annual heat exchanger inspection: Check the TCORE2® titanium‑stabilized aluminized steel exchanger for soot, corrosion, cracks or buildup — clean lightly to maintain ~83 % AFUE and safe operation.
  • Burner & flame check: Clean burner tubes and inspect flame quality (mostly blue, steady) to ensure efficient propane combustion.
  • Clear venting & intake paths: Ensure power‑vent flue and combustion air openings are free of debris to maintain proper draft and avoid backdrafting.
  • Fan & motor care: Remove dust from the axial propeller fan and check for balance, noise or looseness that can reduce airflow.
  • Electrical & ignition checks: Tighten wiring, inspect direct spark ignition and clean flame sensor/LED diagnostics for reliable starts.
  • Gas supply inspection: Check propane line fittings for leaks and proper regulator operation before each season.
  • Keep exterior clean: Dust and debris on the cabinet and louvers restrict airflow and heat transfer.
  • Professional annual service: Have an HVAC technician perform combustion tests and safety control checks to maximize efficiency and lifespan.
